"Plans to give you a hope and a future"

But, God reassured each prophet. He told them that He would be with them every step of the way, and that what He was asking of them was part of His plan. Mrs. Court also reminded the students that just like the prophets, God has a plan for each and every one of them. She said, “He has set you apart and has a very specific plan for your life. He knew you before you were known by anyone else. So be not afraid, even when the task that has been laid before you seems impossible. Do not give way to hopelessness. Trust in God’s plan for you and be hopeful.”

Mr. Samuel Lunz, dean of students, spoke to the Upper School students about hope, and expanded upon the idea that we should have hope in God’s plan for us. He said that hope is even more than just the desire and expectation for something to happen, but rather “trusting in God’s plan and giving up our own will in exchange for His.” We hope in God’s promises for us, and this is anchored in the belief that Jesus made a way for us to get to Heaven.

Mr. Lunz finished by reminding the upper school students of our hope for our students at JHCA. He said, “Our hope as a school and as your teachers is that you understand you are made in the image of God and uniquely designed for a special plan and purpose. Every day we are trying to help you see and fulfill your God-given potential and understand your unique purpose. I can’t tell you exactly what God’s plan is for you individually, but I can tell you that God has a plan and a purpose for you. My encouragement to you is to seek what God has for you, and you can be assured or hope that he will reveal that to you.”
