Tiered Tuition

Tiered Tuition provides a reduction of the annual tuition amount based on a family’s unique financial profile, supporting the Academy’s goal to provide access and affordability for students from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds. All families applying for Tiered Tuition should complete a confidential application through our third-party service provider, School & Student Services (SSS).

SSS independently determines each family’s tuition tier based on financial information and how many children they have in other tuition-charging schools. The corresponding tuition amount will be communicated to families alongside admissions decisions. Tiered Tuition rates are reassessed each year and are based on the family’s most current financial profile.

Kindergarten – Grade 4
Grade 5 – Grade 8
Grade 9 – Grade 12
$4,325–$24,750/year $4,925–$25,300/year $5,775–$26,100/year

*Tuition includes fees, textbooks, materials, club and sports registrations, and lunch for all students.

JHCA's Tiered Tuition Guiding Principals

Recognizing that each family bears the primary responsibility for financing a child’s education costs, these Guiding Principles for Families are designed to serve as guideposts for families’ responsibilities as partners in the Tiered Tuition process:

  1. The family seeks reduced tuition options only after they have determined their own resources are insufficient to cover the cost of attending JHCA and have exhausted the potential resources and options available to them.
  2. The family is open and honest when completing the tiered tuition application and when providing any supporting documentation.
  3. The family adheres to school deadlines and documentation submission requirements.
  4. The family submits true and accurate tax-related documentation, such as the 1040, when required by the school.
  5. The family is responsive to requests from SSS for additional information to support the application.
  6. The family is requested not to disclose its tiered tuition outcome to respect privacy for all in a small community.
