Dear JH Classical Academy Parents,

Gratitude
.  That word encompasses the feeling on campus during our first week of school.  Gratitude is derived from the Latin word gratia, which means grace, graciousness, or gratefulness.  All three meanings were present on campus this first week of school, and it was beautiful and good.
Our list of gratitude is long:
  • Students and teachers were in the classrooms for in-person learning.
  • Everyone had a gracious attitude about following our health protocols.
  • Students were excited to see friends and enthusiastic about learning.
  • Teachers produced outstanding syllabi, welcome letters, and first lessons.
  • Parents graciously wrote notes of encouragement to our team all week.
  • The weather was beautiful every day for outdoor lunch, recess, and classes.
  • The staff made four delicious lunches, including fresh chocolate chip cookies.
  • The new sod is installed, and hoops are coming, for outdoor sport and events
  • God’s grace was present in our leadership team meetings and decisions.
  • JH Youth Basketball is joining us for Old Bill’s Fun Run activities next Saturday.
  • Wilderness Adventures is leading 7th & 8th Grade field trips this month.
There were so many examples this week of God’s grace and people’s graciousness leading to a spirit of gratefulness on campus.  Everyone was ready to show appreciation and return kindness.  We are connected by a greater purpose, and knowing that the source of goodness and power lies outside of our individual abilities yet uses them to accomplish that greater purpose brings peace.

We are motivated by our mission: JH Classical Academy educates K-12 students to cultivate wisdom and virtue in them so they can discover and fulfill their God-given potential.  We do this by focusing on Classical Education, Student Formation, and being Christ Centered with employees who are Kind, Humble, and Curious.  Staying the course with this way of teaching and learning will help us succeed.

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend with your families!
