"I love teaching because I have the privilege of showing students the love of Christ on a daily basis. While their physical health and development is important, having the opportunity to guide students in their spiritual health is an even bigger blessing."

Mr. Rutt has taught physical education at the classical Great Hearts schools in Arizona since 2010, and spent 2014-2016 teaching at JHCA. During his time at Great Hearts, Mr. Rutt was an extracurricular coordinator and a Dean of Students; he also created an after-school sports program for the Great Hearts schools. Mr. Rutt, his wife Katilyn, and their young son Bryson, are excited to once again work at JHCA and live in Jackson Hole.

Since 2017, Mr. Rutt has worked on developing a classical PE program. The program includes gymnastics, fitness, and skill-building that lays a solid foundation for well-rounded, healthy students. It also provides young athletes with the general physical preparedness needed to play sports injury free. Mr. Rutt says that he has seen tremendous improvement in his students' strength, flexibility, and coordination in just three years. He says, "Learning about classical education ten years ago gave me a better perspective in the most effective ways of training students. There are methods that have stood the test of time."

Mr. Rutt is enthusiastic about teaching PE at JHCA. He says, "I am looking forward to teaching at a small school in which I can build relationships with students. JHCA is at an exciting stage with a new gym and projected campus. I'm committed to helping the school and developing new programs."

In his spare time, Mr. Rutt loves to run. He won his first ultra-marathon race (50 miles) in Cape Creek Arizona in February of 2020. He will continue his passion for running in Jackson. He says, "I look forward to getting into the local running scene again and competing in some of the longer races in and around Jackson Hole!"
