Merit Scholarships Application



Jackson Hole Classical Academy has the opportunity to award ten $10,000 merit-scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year. Academy Scholars should demonstrate academic aptitude as well as embody the Academy’s motto of “Truth, Beauty & Goodness.” Concurrently, with the general admission process, the merit-scholarship committee will review Academy Scholars’ applications and notify recipients of awards. Lower School Academy Scholars will be required to be in good academic standing and Upper School Academy Scholars will be required to maintain at 3.25 (B average).

Award:
$10,000 towards tuition for the 2020-2021 academic year at Jackson Hole Classical Academy.


Application Criteria:

  • This merit scholarship is for new students not previously enrolled at the Academy.
  • A parent must complete a general school application and the merit scholarship form. 
  • Academy Scholar candidates must be accepted in Kindergarten - 12th Grade for the 2020-2021 academic year at Jackson Hole Classical Academy.
  • Tuition Assistance recipients are not eligible for the merit scholarships.
  • Board & faculty members are not eligible for the merit scholarships.
  • Academy Scholars will represent the Academy’s motto of “Truth, Beauty & Goodness” in their participation and actions in community and family life. This is to be articulated in the application via a Letter of Recommendation for Lower School students and an essay by Upper School students.
  • Academy Scholars will demonstrate success in academics. Upper School (Grades 7-12) applicants must have minimum GPA of 3.25 (B average) or better. Lower School (Grades K-6) applicants do not have a GPA requirement but must submit a letter or recommendation addressing their academic achievements.

  • Paragraph written on why student should receive a merit-scholarship at Jackson Hole Classical Academy.
  • Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, coach, pastor or arts instruction addressing the students “Truth, Beauty & Goodness.” *A total of two letters of recommendation are needed. One speaking to the student's academic aptitude and one letter about a time the student embodied the Academy’s virtues of “Truth, Beauty & Goodness.”
Upper School (Grades 7-12) Application Check List:

  • Online JH Classical Application Submitted
    • Transcripts
    • Standardized Testing Results
    • Letter of Recommendation
    • Student Interview
    • Parent Meeting
  • GPA & Academic Achievement Summary
  • Applicant’s written paragraph written on why he or she should receive a merit-scholarship at Jackson Hole Classical Academy.
  • Applicant’s essay submitted addressing a unique time that the student embodied the Academy motto of “Truth, Beauty & Goodness” helping a community family or community member.
